Creativity Collaboratives Conference at Bottisham Village College

Creativity Collaboratives Conference at Bottisham Village College

ӰƬ is participating in an ambitious three-year “Creativity Collaboratives” research project, exploring teaching for creativity, supported by Arts Council England and the Freelands Foundation.

Representatives for all Trusts involved within this project gathered for a day of lectures and seminars which took place at Bottisham Village College on 2 November 2022.  Each participating Trust presented on where they currently are within phase 1 of a three-step program for the Creativity Collaborative initiative. The representatives explained their proposed research question and focus, and what actions they have taken to so far.  ӰƬ was represented by our dedicated research team, brought together to bring rigour to our trial and evaluation. Colleagues Emma Matthews-King, Jack McClean, Heather Wayman, Briony Davies worked with project lead, Phil Burgess, research advisor from UCL, Dr Sally Riordan, and central team colleague James Woodcock, discussing progress and plans related to our Trust’s focus:

“Will explore how varied approaches to teaching for creativity, with a particular focus on inquisitiveness, support all pupils and contribute to school improvement in a diverse range of settings.”

As well as a general update and networking opportunities with other like-minded individuals from schools across the country, representatives from Durham University provided an insightful lecture on the research findings to date, providing guidance and encouragement for the remainder of the project.
